What do you think about a made in France Christmas wish-list ? This year, I really wanted to highlight young designers and craftspeople. And I’m delighted because I’m sure you will make nice discoveries ! Let’s go:
Kerzon candles : I truly love their look and I’d like to mention that wax is natural and biodegradable while locks are in pure cotton. Kerzon candles and their other products are manufactured in France. Candle, 35 euros
A Héritage Studio pillow. I just discovered Cecile creations thanks to Instagram, and I loved her work straight away ! Some fabrics are vintage, others are manufactured in France, lovely and timeless patterns. Around 40€ for a pillow case
Hortense Montarnal ceramics. Since I portrayed her for the blog, I follow her and I must say I truly love her work. Here it’s a special order for Prairial restaurant in Lyon: nice, isn’t it??
Chocolate, yes, but not ANY chocolate. Once you taste good chocolate, you can’t eat full of sugar and tasteless tricks you find everywhere. In France, we are lucky enough to have great chocolate craftsmen, and as I was born in Saint-Etienne, I recommend chocolats Weiss . This is a picture I posted on Instagram.
A nice handmade hat, a beautiful fashion acccess: Chapoléone. Their hats are manufactured in westsouth of France. If you like, you can even make your own hat and choose the color, the shape, and the ribbon. OK, I talk as if you would keep it but you can also offer it if you really like ! Hat around 129€
Weaving ! Yes, weaving is back and I truly recommend Julie Robert, who makes beautiful things in the south of France that you can buy on her e-shop. You should also know that Julie organizes weaving workshops everywhere in France, so if you want to learn how to weave: go !
I discovered Marli bags very recently. They are manufactured out of upcycled home fabrics (you know how much I love upcycling !) by a Parisian workshop that employs disabled people. Small bag, 85 euros
A book: Marie Laforêt book I discovered about 2 weeks ago. In a kitchen shop, I was attracted by the colourful and appetizing cover; If I’m not vegan yet, I truly reduced my meat consumption this year and I’m looking for recipes and ideas to change my culinary habits. This book is definitely on my shopping list, and for 2 reasons: over the past years, I used to offer books as a gift because I thought it had a low-carbon impact. Well, this is not that simple, because I found out by looking more closely at it that lots of books are printed in China, especially children books. La Plage Editions are attentive on this point and explain that they print in France and in Spain. Healthy Vegan by Marie Laforêt, around 29 euros
Last but not least: Victoire bodysuit I designed and which is part of the French Cocotte Midnight Collection I released last week. Manufactured in France, Lyon silk, Calais lace: to offer or to keep for oneself ! Victoire Body, 195 euros
I hope that you found plenty of ideas for your Christmas shopping ! As it’s said, “shop small, buy local” for more original gifts !
