Here is a good gastronomic surprise: l’InaTTendu restaurant in Lyon bought by Marc Boissieux who won TV program Masterchef 4. He kept the name of the restaurant as it evoked quite good his own career. A friend of mine had highly recommended it to me and so I was eager to test it! It’s not so much the fact that Marc has won Masterchef that attracted me (yeah, I’m not fond of food-reality shows), but now you know I’m fond of good food!
Here I am with girlfriends heading to test l’InaTTendu. First impression: decoration is very clean and zen. In my opinion, it lacks a bit of cosy fealing for dinner, especially because of the high ceiling. But it’s a small detail and I must say I found lights very nice. Marc Boissieux is helped by a cook who formerly workk for La Mère Brazier: a very famous and historical restaurant in Lyon that you should try! Marc’s wife, Beatrice was there that night for the service, very effective.
We were conquered with the starter: I chose roasted Saint Jacques scallops, Dubarry cream and Colonnata bacon and hazelnuts…yummy: it was a treat! We did not leave a crumb as we wiped our plates with bread: I know it’s not suitable in public but I don’t care and I do it all the time when it’s so good!
For the main course I chose the Pata Negra pluma with parsnip puree with coconut milk and Porto. A delight!
With it I drank a very good glass of Crozes Hermitage wine which I would like to have fuller. I quibble, I know!
For dessert, I chose the roasted pineapple, vanilla ice cream and speculoos. A very good point for desserts at l’InaTTendu (my friends chose another one and it was a killer too) as to have desserts as good as the rest of the meal in restaurants and it’s the case here.
Note that Marc Boissieux kindly visits his guest at the end of the meal, which is rare enough to be reported (except in famous starred restaurants).
Is is necessary to conclude to say that I highly recommend l’InaTTendu restaurant? Anyway, I intend to go back very soon: I have plenty of meals to test…
