Hit the road # 2: Verdon

alpes hautes provence verdon lac sainte croix decouverte

After a small road trip on the famous Nationale 7  and our stop in the Vaucluse, we headed to Haut Var through the Alpes de Haute Provence (we did not take the highway: too many lovely things to see…): we discovered this very nice region with mountains, lavender, and oak forests: Verdon. Sooooo nice!

It is a sparsely populated region and so this is a great place to discover by road tripping.

Verdon is famous for its impressive cliffs, the very nice color of the Lac de Sainte Croix and the very chic village of Moustiers Sainte Marie. But there are other very nice things to see there: Cotignac (a very nice village), the superb museum of Prehistory (the biggest in Europe) in Quinson.

For sure this peaceful place is not ideal for nightclubbers…No trendy bar in the area: you’ll just drink your Pastis watching beautiful sunset.

Here are some pics of the region: I hope they make you want to come here….

PS: the goats you see came to visit us in our isolated holiday house!
