AT LAST! Here we are, I tested Kitchen Café in Lyon. This is a gain a good restaurant which desserves to be in my category dedicated to my favorite places in France. I have to admit that I wasn’t a precursor on that tip!
You feel at ease in this cosy simple restaurant: the kitchen is in the restaurant, it’s very friendly. Two important things there: you can’t have dinner at the Kitchen Café: you can have breakfast, lunch and even afternoon tea or coffee! And finally at lunch there are two services: the first at 12 and the second from 1.30pm. It means that you have to free the table for the others if you eat at 12. Still, I found that rythm was good and I did not feel pressed at all. But you have to keep in mind that you can’t stay at your table at the end of the meal.
The only downside was the aperitif: I ordered a chestnut kir: MISTAKE! Around 3 minutes later came my first course, and drinking chestnut kir while you eat is very strange. So by friends, if you take a drink, choose a glass if wine!
The menu was a real treat, controlled, inventive without being too quirky. In short, I loved everything there!

PS: Kitchen Café is based right in front of another very good restaurant that a friend of mine made me discover: En Mets Fais ce qu’il te Plaît: highly recommended!
